Bird Action: Top 5 Photos of the Week 2021
For photographing bird action, It is not only necessary to have the right camera gear and the knowledge to use them effectively but it’s also important to know the behavior of birds. So in this post first let’s talk about How do you photograph moving birds?, then we’ll see the Top 5 photos of the week of theme Bird action.
How do you photograph moving birds?
Birds are fascinating creatures to photograph, but it can be very difficult to get high-quality images of birds in action.
But here are some of the tips direct from professionals.
- Try to shoot in good light, which means shoot in the golden hour, one hour after sunrise, or one hour before sunset.
- As much as possible, try to point your shadow at the bird, meaning, the sun should be behind you. When the sun is behind you, the bird will be nicely lit up, and there will be a minimum of shadows on the bird’s head.
- For birds in action, it’s important to have a fast shutter speed, and maybe some extra depth of field. This will ensure that you get the sharpest image possible.
- Use the intermittent focusing technique – focus on the bird, then let up on the shutter release, then track the bird in the frame, then refocus on the bird, and do this intermittently until the bird is close enough for the shot you want.
- One key to being successful when photographing action birds is to always be ready.
