WEEKLY FEATURE (10 Jan 2021 – 16 Jan 2022): Portrait
The red-crested pochard is a large diving duck. The scientific name is derived from Greek Netta “duck”, and Latin rufina, “golden-red”.

The black drongo is a small Asian passerine bird of the drongo family Dicruridae. It is a common resident breeder in much of tropical southern Asia from southwest Iran through India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka east to southern China and Indonesia and accidental visitor of Japan.

The Asian elephant, also known as the Asiatic elephant, is the only living species of the genus Elephas and is distributed throughout the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia, from India in the west, Nepal in the north, Sumatra in the south, and to Borneo in the east.
